Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Professional Lymphatic Drainage Massage Service in Marbella.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage also known as Manual Lymphatic Drainage – Dr Vodder Method is a very specific light pressure massage. Most doctors recommend it before and after liposuction – and Brazilian Bum Lift (BBL) treatments. It works on the lymph system to remove waste and builds the bodies defences. It effectively unblocks and eliminates toxins which build up in our bodies due to poor eating habits, environmental pollution, injuries or after surgical operations.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage boosts the immune system, improves circulation, helps reduce water retention and can assist with weight loss. It is also very effective before and after surgery to reduce swelling and help scar tissue heal.
Why Lymphatic Drainage Massage?
After an injury, where the affected area is swollen and inflamed due to the trauma to the tissue such as bruises, cuts, burns, blisters, ulcers and surgical procedures. The inflammation is due to broken blood and lymph vessels. By doing MLD massage or Lymph Drainage massage around the affected area, it will prevent the damaged tissues becoming congested and help the area to receive the nutrition that it needs to heal more quickly.
A Lymph Drainage massage is very relaxing and if a course is combined with a healthy lifestyle and drinking plenty of water it will dramatically improve the appearance of your skin. This massage treatment works so well on the reduction of scar tissue that patients are amazed that such a gentle treatment has such a great outcome.
Normally talcum powder is used in a Lymph Drainage Massage but Aromatherapy oils can also be used. There are some specific essential oils that are effective in the treatment of the lymph system which include – Geranium, Cypress, Juniper and Grapefruit to name a few. Sometimes I prefer to combine both using talc and after oils as I find this gives an overall better outcome. This of course depends of a few factors such as – how recent the trauma/operation and the scar tissue involved.
Check out this page for more information on Aromatherapy massage.
A full body treatment takes approximately 1 hour 30 mins. Specific area treatments take less according to area, i.e. swollen ankles, post operative etc.
